Lombard Street Tour - Friday 5th February 2010
The last time we toured Lombard Street was back in 2006. Since then the area has lost Alfie Hales, The Bowery Bar, Paul Flynn's Bebo Lounge and the Front of the Munster. Some new venues have come and gone and others reopened, so we were keen to update our records.

The Three Shippes
The Three Shippes is the only place along here that has not changed much over the years. Despite the early hour, the place was lively and the smell of steak & onions was quite welcoming.

Marina Hotel
By contrast the Waterfront bar in the Marina Hotel was dull in the extreme. Even the barman found it hard to be enthused. Our round changed swiftly to shorts to ensure a fast exit before all the happiness was not sucked from our soles.

The Boat Club
The boat club is a real hidden gem. The staff is very friendly and the drink is cheap. They even had live traditional music which certainly adds to the atmosphere. This is a place that is difficult to leave.

The Kings
One of the most changeable places along here has been Kings. We were delighted to find that it was making steps to get back to the good ol' days when this place was one of the busiest pubs in town. With the new Waterford Crystal centre opening in the summer, there is a real chance that this place could get back on the map.

Katty Barry's
Katty Barry's has always been a ciddy tours favorite and for good reason. It is full of characters and has a great atmosphere. This is another place that can only benefit from the area being revamped. It is a great spot.
